99%......

As i said, my baby will be wide awake in the night. Went to Dr Ang at 8.30pm to do a blood test and asked him to might as well do a scan for me again. And true enough, the baby was moving very actively... with the hands moving fiercely.... can see the fingers very clearly...The doctor said "everything is much the same... and it still look like a boy" while pointing to a genital part that looks like a little thing....

Upon seeing it, I was sure that is it.. though the doctor did not say it is a boy...or 100% it is a boy.... I have seen my colleague's baby boy scan before and it looks exactly like what i saw in the scan on my colleague baby. Though after the visit, my hubby said he thought that's the balls... i said.. no, that is the little thing... but whatever it is, I have a strong feeling that is a male genital part. Though this is the case, think both my hubby and I just want to say "it should be a boy" to people rather than " it is a boy" till next month, when the hospital scan confirms it. Unless there is 1% chance that it is wrong... hehehe..

I still want to say the same old thing... the feeling that my kid will be hyperactive, mischevious, cute and an owl is getting stronger and stronger.. next time, the mummy will be a panda... :p

Hyperactive Kid

Ya. true to Zen's comments. At this moment, it is still not confirmed until the picture scan is out showing the little thing..

But i have a feeling that this is a super hyperactive kid. Yesterday afternoon, i felt a bit of discomfort in my tummy.. can't really describe the feeling. it is kind of painful and feels like something is just moving underneath my tummy... but i can't really make sense fully that must be my baby's movement.

but in my mind, if that is not, what is that? Cos sometimes the feeling is at the top of the tummy, then bottom tummy... then side... so i reckon that he/she must be doing a sommersault in side.... and that unusual feeling lasts intermitently for about 5 mins...hyperactive kid.

tonight, I am going to see my gynae to do a blood test. so hopefully, my gynae will agree to my request to do the scan one more time tonight (cos today purpose is just to do the blood test). and hopefully, i will know whether it is a hyperactive boy or hyperactive girl. : )

Naughty Kid

At the first sight of the baby, Dr Ang says that this is the most difficult position for him to do any check. He supposed to make sure that there are the 2 hands, 2 legs and guess the gender. However, this kid is sleeping so soundly in a curly facing down position. What i have told him/her for the past month every night - "must be good, let daddy and mummy see ur gender ok" - has been futile. :p.. After straining his eyes, Dr ang finally can dedect his/her 2 hands. One elbow was raised behind his/her head.. and another hand was just beside his/her ear. Saw 2 of his/her legs too... feel it is really huge...

Saw his/her huge head and spinal cord... can you see? this is not a good picture as he/she is in the most difficult position he can be to prevent people from seeing him/her. Naughty right?


So Dr Ang attempted to wake him/her up by creating movements in my tummy... Think he/she is still not fully awake... but at least he/she moved.. and from now on, andy and I can't make up what is on the screen anymore... as Dr ang keep moving the screen and prob baby is moving too... and within that minute, Dr says it prob be a girl..... then shortly after he says... I think it is a boy.... 70% it is a boy.

And i asked... how come? you saw the "little thing"? and he says "ya.." but he can't confirm as our baby is in the difficult position to be 100% sure. Dr Ang also says that the baby weighs 200grams (according to andy, it is the weight of 3 pieces of printing paper. :p)

I really feel good after the visit. Kind of interesting and heartwarming to see him/her in that cute position (though not ideal.. : ) After much thought, i really feel that he/she is so naughty. He/she was wide awake the last visit and he/she keep moving giving dr ang a hard time too... and now when he/she supposed to be awake, he sleep like a log... and curl up like a cute little ball... sigh... so i have a feeling that he/she will be naughty and cute.. hahahah..

Also, have a sense of worry... He/she sleeps in the afternoon, and awake in the night.... meaning i may have sleepless night in the future.. :p

Looking at the EDD date, most likely i have to spent the chinese new year confining at home. sob sob...

Week 15 and 4 days

Sigh, have been very busy with work for the past week and have done nothing much for the baby. Not getting enough rest (due to work and watching "winter sonata"), not eating very balanced diet (can only grab whatever is available after work), not shopping for baby stuff, not reading for baby stuff.. But the baby had alot of crab, durian and french food (lamp chop) over the weekend. Just i was complaining to my friends that my tummy doesn't seems to grow bigger since 2 or 3 weeks ago, it kind of grow bigger after the weekend. Must be the crab, durian and the lamp chop that is feeding my baby well.

I really like the meal.. my favourite, crab and durian.... what is the next big food that i must conquer before my baby is out? hmm.. have to think about it...

Now, my doctor appointment has to be postponed to 26 Aug, as my hubby is going to Vietnam from 20th to 23rd. Quite reluctant, but i can't deprived him of the chance to see the baby since he only get to see him/her once in a month like me...

Shopping for baby

Today, I went to Taka Baby fair. If I am not just 3 and 1/2 months pregnant only ++ my husband keep reiterating that "it is too early to buy", I would have whacked just like mango sale. : p

Saw pram, baby bottles, breast pump that is going at about 30% discount. Saw a few cute baby's clothes set, their hat at reasonable price. and what more, we can use our taka voucher. What a waste...

By the way, through a few baby stuff shopping experiences, I realised that my husband and I have differing views about things. Cost to me is the deciding factor, of course balancing safety and features. BUT he just want "SAAD" looking stuff... E.g. he wants to buy a maclaren pram that costs $429 and i think a GRACO for $200+ (after discount $100+) pram is good enough....

the list goes on with car seat, baby bag, cot, etc etc..........

Confession

I have a confession to make.... I slipped and fell on my knee yesterday morning while trying to buy chwee kueh to fill up my and baby's stomach. The floor was slightly wet and i think my shoe wasnt really anti-slippery. All at marina square.

Luckily, the impact wasn't that great that caused any discomfort or mishap in my tummy/baby. phew...

Gender of the baby

It has been a long time that I have updated my blog. Now, I am in my 2nd trimester and surprising that my waistline is still at 31cm, but the tummy seems to be a little bigger. Now, is the period where everybody is guessing the gender. Some feel that my tummy shape seems to indicate that it is a girl; Some feel that my skin is not radiant and shiny so should be a boy; some says that it is a boy because my tummy is so big at this stage.

To be frank, before my pregnancy, I kind of want a boy as my first kid ( i am the traditional sort). but after being pregnant, somehow i feel that i will be happy be it is a boy or girl, as long as he/she is healthy, chubby and cute. haha.. I also like girl now cos there is so many girlie stuff in the market that is so cutteeee... that i want to buy for my kid.. Also, ultimately, i want to have a mixture of boy and girl in my family.

I really hope that my kid will not be in a position that the gynae cannot deduce the gender in my next visit (21 Aug). If not, I guess to wait for another month. So baby, you must be "guai" ok... :p
